Customer Care – Tiles & Stone Basins

Customer Care - Tiles and Stone Basins

We want your Kami Homeskins products to look beautiful for years to come. Proper cleaning, care and maintenance will help protect the appearance and finish of your products.

⚠️ Important: Avoid Harsh Chemicals

We recommend avoiding bleach, ammonia, vinegar, acidic cleaners, abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals unless specifically approved for the particular material. Incorrect or prolonged use of these products can damage surfaces, affect finishes, wear down sealants and, in some materials, cause staining or surface deterioration.

Tiles — Porcelain, Cement, Handmade, Terracotta, Clay, Terrazzo & Natural Stone

Regular Cleaning Sweep or vacuum loose dirt and debris before mopping. Clean with warm water using a soft mop or cloth and a suitable pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaner.

Handmade, Terracotta, Clay & Cement Tiles These materials are generally more porous than porcelain. Wipe spills promptly and avoid abrasive scourers and harsh cleaning products, which may wear or damage the surface and finish.

Terrazzo Tiles Terrazzo contains natural marble chips and requires appropriate care, particularly in wet areas such as showers. Prolonged or repeated exposure to harsh soaps, shampoos, body washes and cleaning chemicals may affect the surface and protective sealant over time, and may cause the marble chips to gradually erode.

We recommend rinsing the surface thoroughly after use and avoiding harsh, acidic or abrasive cleaning products. Proper sealing and ongoing maintenance will help protect it further.

Sealing For porous and raw materials such as natural stone, handmade, terracotta, clay, cement and terrazzo tiles, we recommend sealing to help protect against moisture, staining and everyday wear.

We recommend using a natural penetrating sealer suitable for the specific material. We also recommend sealing after grouting for extra protection.

The frequency of resealing will depend on the material, sealer used, installation location and level of use.

Stone Basins

Natural stone is porous and requires appropriate care to help maintain its appearance and finish.

Gentle Cleaning Clean with a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, scourers and stiff brushes, which may scratch or affect the surface.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, including vinegar, bleach and strong chemicals, as these may affect the natural stone surface and potentially damage the protective sealant.

Water Spots, Mineral Build-Up & Staining Water can leave spots, mineral deposits and, depending on the type and porosity of the stone, may contribute to staining or discolouration over time. This is particularly relevant in areas with hard water or where water is left standing for extended periods.

Where practical, wipe the basin dry after use, particularly around the bowl and drain, to help minimise water spots and mineral build-up.

Sealing Our natural stone basins are supplied pre-sealed. As natural stone is porous, periodic resealing may help maintain protection against moisture and staining.

The frequency of resealing will depend on the type of stone, level of use, installation location and sealer used.

Avoid Prolonged Standing Water Avoid leaving water pooling in the basin for extended periods. Prolonged exposure to moisture, minerals and cleaning products may affect the appearance of the stone over time.

Important Care & Maintenance Note

Care requirements can vary depending on the material, finish, installation, location and level of use. Always follow the specific care instructions for your product.

If you are unsure whether a cleaning product is suitable, test it on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Damage caused by incorrect cleaning, harsh chemicals, abrasive products, misuse, prolonged exposure to unsuitable substances or failure to carry out recommended maintenance may not be covered by warranty.

FAQ

Delivery

Assuming there are no “backorder” or “out of stock” items in your order, it may take up to 2+ weeks for your bulk order to arrive at your address, depending on your State and postcode.

All our orders are delivered on a pallet (or skid). Our truck will either have a tailgate (if the customer requested so) or hand unload and deliver them to the kerbside only. Tiles and stone goods are notably heavy and cumbersome. Customers are advised to get prepared and make sure they can store their order in an accessible and safe place. Make sure you've got a place where your order can be quickly dropped off. Delivery options are “ATL” (Authority To Leave), or “signature required”. If the nominated delivery company attempts to deliver your tiles and you are not available to receive them, you will be invoiced by KMI for any costs associated with the re-delivery of your tiles later.

You will be emailed a tracking number as soon as your order has left our premises. Please keep an eye on the delivery.
If “ATL” is selected at checkout, no need to be present.
If “Signature required” is selected, and you are not home for the delivery, the driver will leave a card and you can re-book delivery on a day that works for you. Please be aware you will be invoiced by Kami for any costs associated with the re-delivery of your tiles.

Kami HS delivers nationally using specialised delivery partners.
Shipping costs are based on the postcode entered at checkout. We offer flat rate
regardless of order size. Pricing starts from $100 and varies depending on the geographical
area you live in.

Area | Flat Rate | Transit Time

Metro Melbourne | $100 |2-5 Business Days

Regional Areas | $200 | 5-10 Business days

Samples Pack

Offer is valid for 6 months from sample order date, the period after which the discount code expires and it’s no longer redeemable. Customers can, however, order a different sample pack which value can be redeemed (once again, just 1 sample pack per customer) within the next 6 months.

Samples are not combinable and only redeemable once per customer. The discount code is emailed to the customer email address they enter at checkout. It will only work at checkouts associated with that specific email address and it applies to the first order only, for the value of the sample pack purchased.

Samples come at a cost that varies from AU$1 to AU$5, depending on each specific sample. Additionally, there’s a $19 postage fee
(Australia wide delivery) when shipped, or free of charge when collected in-store.

There’s no profit in samples but we believe it’s a necessary service for our customers.

The value of each sample is obviously higher than what they’re sold for. Apart from the material itself, it requires a certain amount of time for samples to be prepared, packed, and shipped to customers.
